Review of the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown

Hey guys! So today, I have a review of the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown! This is a much beloved product of mine, and I have a video with my thoughts on it (it's about 5 minutes). Overall, I highly recommend this product (even though it is $23). The price tag is a bit hefty, but I haven't touched any brow products as much as I have since this purchase!

Review: Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadows (353, 07, 09, 12)

Top Left to Right: Matte 353, AMC Shine 07
Bottom Left to Right: AMC Shine 09, AMC Shine 12

Price: Freedom System Empty Palette ($10), Each Individual Eyeshadow ($6), Total Palette Costs ($34)
Where Can It Be Purchased: Beautylish, Inglot, and Select Macys

Hey guys! So today I will be doing a review of the Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadows. I have here four colors I purchased back in July, and I've finally gotten around to settling what my final thoughts are on this palette! This review was requested by several readers of the blog!

The packaging of this palette is very secure. I am very pleased with how sturdy the packaging is! This is one of the few palettes I own that I feel extremely comfortable traveling with. This palette has a nice weight to it and along with a very strong magnet that keeps the lid attached, I don't feel like my eyeshadows are in danger of being destroyed by minor things.

I picked out four colors in this palette without checking any reviews online. After swatching for a good half an hour in the Inglot counter at Macy's, I decided on creating a somewhat "rose gold" eyeshadow palette. Out of the four colors I picked out, only one color is matte, the rest have a shimmer finish.

Swatches from Left to Right: Matte 353, AMC Shine 07, AMC Shine 09, AMC Shine 12

Matte 353: A cream, off white color. The pigmentation here is nice, the formulation is not chalky. Easy to blend on the skin, and has been a favorite of mine for highlighting my browbone.

AMC Shine 07: A pale gold color. This is the least pigmented color in the palette, but the pigmentation is still good. Beautiful formulation, is not too shimmery on the eyes and is not chalky. One of my favorite golds in my makeup collection.

AMC Shine 09: A rose gold color. This is more on the peachy side of rose gold. Once again, the formulation of this product isn't too shimmery and it isn't chalky.

AMC Shine 12: A rusty, cranberry color. This is a very wearable cranberry color, can be built up and to create a smokey look and can be used lightly to create some dimension in your eyes. One of my most worn eyeshadows in the fall.

I don't have much to complain about these eyeshadows to be honest. The pigmentation and staying power is really good (especially if you wear a eyeshadow primer!) These colors blend very easily and they swatch and apply true to color. Out of this palette, my most used eyeshadow is definitely Matte 353, I can't live without that eyeshadow because I use it for my highlight on a very consistent basis! The only con I have against this palette is that I can't see the number of the eyeshadow in this palette because the magnet is too strong! Besides that, all I can say is that I can't wait until I try more Inglot eyeshadows!

Have you guys tried Inglot eyeshadows? Any recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments below!

TAG: 10 Beauty Things I Suck At

Hey guys! Today I will be showcasing the 10 Beauty Things I Suck At! I was tagged by Nikki over at Fairest's Favorites (whose an awesome Florida based blogger like I am). This is just one of the many tags that I have to catch up on, so if you are interested in seeing what 10 things I suck at then just keep on reading!

1. Keeping a consistent skincare routine.
Yes, shame on me as a beauty blogger and being THAT girl. Well here's the thing....I have a semi-consistent routine. I definitely remove my makeup (on days that I am wearing it) and moisturize my lips with a lip conditioner. I usually cleanse my face using whatever cleanser I have at the moment (too choosy with cleansers to figure out which ones I like) and an exfoliator (St. Ives' Apricot Scrub).

And that's pretty much where it ends for the 'consistent basis'. Yes, that means I usually don't spot treat my acne on a daily basis, or use a night cream often, or use an eye cream often...But now that it is winter time...this has a habit of changing. My skin gets drier, and I can't survive with no moisture on my skin. And then, the latter will be done on a more frequent basis. Winter in Florida doesn't last long (and it also comes and goes...) so as such, I have a very bad skin care routine :/

2. Drinking Water
Something so important that it's awful that I am sucking hard core at it! I've gotten better, to wear I will at least drink water several times a week. I want to get to the point that I am able to drink water several times a daily easily, without being squeamish about it. Not only is it good to hydrate you, but its also good for you skin (all my friends with flawless skin swears by drinking galleons and galleons of water)

3. Wearing False Lashes
I'm sure that my eye makeup look would look so much better if I wore false lashes to go with them... One of these days I will wear false lashes for every other eye makeup look so that you can get the full effect of the look (especially on those dramatic eye makeup days...where my natural lashes + my favorite mascara doesn't do the look justice).

4. Washing my makeup brushes
Probably one of my worse habits I have... I know its completely unsanitary and probably the cause of my breakouts...and I also know that my makeup doesn't apply as well with dirty brushes as clean brushes. I just have a difficult time washing my brushes because I have quite a bit (around 20+) and I usually do it all at once (Hence my procrastination).

5. Throwing away expired makeup
If there is anything that can top number 4, it is this one. Boy oh boy do things stay in my collection for awhile... the worse offender being mascaras (which have approximately a 3 month lifespan). I can't bear throw away expensive mascaras after its been opened for only 3 months...especially if I didn't use them on a constant basis... so they stay in my collection for awhile (and I'm not going to go and admit how long some of mine have existed...its kinda embarassing).

6. Doing my makeup...quickly
I've always envied girls who have the capability to do their makeup quickly and run out of the door and look flawless. Lately, I haven't been able to get my routine under 10 minutes...much less 30 minutes. So, I now have either become the girl that has caused the whole party to be late...or the girl that has to prepare way early in advance.

7. Picking at my skin.
Any and all acne scarring has been caused by me. Yes, me. I've never actually started picking at my skin until the past 2 years or so, and as of lately I've agitated my pimples til the point that they burst. As such, I now have scarring (and some minor craters) on my face. Not to mention, my scarring tends to be of the hyperpigmentation nature, meaning that my scars tend to be darker then the skin color.

8. Being creative with my hair.
For my friends who see me on a constant basis (or for my very dedicated readers), you will realize my hair is usually dull. It's either straight, in a pony tail, or if I'm feeling special, curled. I just purchased the Goody Spin Pin, so my hair has now starting to traverse to being in a bun every now and then. One of these days I'll have the patience to sit down and braid my hair...but until then my hair will be BORING.

9) Impulse Buying
I'm not sure if this should be in here or not, but I felt like I should add this anyways. For products that do have coupons (mainly drugstore), I wish I wouldn't impulse buy as much and save more money on the products that I purchased. I get the newspaper every Sunday and yet at times I don't use makeup coupons and combine with other deals to buy products...I just end up buying whatever I felt like it instead of being a saavy shopper. Sometimes I'm a really good shopper, but most of the time I'm horrid at it.

10) Keeping up with my eyebrows.
One of these days I will tweeze my eyebrows in between my threading appointments so I don't have to go so often. Getting my eyebrows threaded does add up after awhile, so I should prolong it as long as I could. I tell myself every time that I could save money so much easier that way, but I need to be consistent with it or else it won't work.

Thank you once more for tagging me Nikki! As such, I hereby tag the following bloggers:

Face of The Day: Smokey Purple Eye Look for Night of Tokyo 11/9/12

Hello everyone! Today I will be showing you the makeup I did back on Saturday for the dance performance last Saturday for one of the biggest events on campus, Night of Tokyo! Basically, this night showcases Japanese culture and some of the highlights of the night was a fashion show (which I kinda regret not being apart of) and our dance performance. One of these days I will link the dance performance on the blog, but the last two the performances have been blurry :/

Face:
CoverGirl and Olay Concealer in Light
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in Medium Beige
Elf Studio HD Powder in Translucent
Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sundance
Wet n Wild Bronzing Powder in Reserve Your Cabana
Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush Mellow Wine

Eyes:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder in Dark Brown
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
Jordana EasyBrow in Taupe
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
Urban Decay Naked 2 (Bootycall, YDK)
Wet n Wild Color Icon in Silent Treatment (Eyelid and Crease)\
Wet n Wild MegaLast Eye Liner in Black
Wet n Wild Take the Day Fergie Eyeshadow Primer

Lips:
Lancome Cream Lipstick in Love It

How To Do The Makeup:
1) I first applied Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation (Review) all over my face. I then used CoverGirl and Olay Simply Ageless Concealer in Light on my undereyes to cover up my undereye circles.
2) Primed my eyelids using the Wet n Wild Take the Day Fergie Eyeshadow Primer (Review).
3) Used Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Powder in Dark Brown to fill my eyebrows, used the lighter color to fill the first half of my brow and used the darker color to fill the last half of my eyebrow. I then used Jordana EasyBrow in Taupe to fill in any additional spots in my eyebrow and to create a stronger brow. I then used Anastasia Bevely Hills Clear Brow Gel (Review) to set the brows.
4) Applied Urban Decay YDK from my Naked 2 Palette in the first 2/3rds of my eyelid. I then applied Wet n Wild Silent Treatment 'Eyelid' color in the middle of my eyelid and the Wet n Wild Silent Treatment 'Crease' color on the outer third of my eyelid. I then used Urban Decay Bootycall from the Naked 2 Palette as underneath my browbone as my highlight and used it lightly to blend out the rest of my eyeshadow.
5) I then used Wet n Wild Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana to highlight my face and used Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in  Mellow Wine as my blush. I bronzed my face using Rimmel Natural Bronzer in SunDance.
6) Lastly, I used Elf Studio HD Powder to set my makeup and applied Lancome Cream Lipstick in Love It on my lips!

For my hair, I curled using the NuMe 19MM Magic Wand (Review).

What do you guys think of the makeup look? Let me know what you think in the comment section below :)

Wishlist Wednesday: To Reward Myself (Holiday Kits Style)

Welcome to another Wishlist Wednesday! In this edition I will be showing you the holiday kits that I really do want to have in my collection (even though it may not make much sense considering how I already have too much for one person anyways...). All of these are from high end makeup brands, ranging from brands where I do own a product or two to brands where I don't own anything. As always, I will be detailing which products I will most likely buy and why I will or won't.

Benefit Countdown to Love Advent Calender
Will I Buy: Maybe
Why: This is probably one of the most adorable ideas I have seen a makeup company come across with. Basically, every day in December you get to open up and there is a little sample of one of Benefit's famed products. While I may not buy it for myself, there is of course a high likely chance I will buy it for an awesome friend!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
Will I Buy: Possibly
Why: I so, so, so badly want this palette. I have always been a huge admirer of Hourglass products, but I haven't spiked my courage up to pick something up from them. Not to mention, while I love highlighting my face, I'm kinda skeptical with how amazing this product is in comparison to everything else in the market. Maybe if I do well in my classes I will splurge!
Marc Jacobs Beauty The Showstopper 7-Piece Holiday Set
Will I Buy: Probably Not
Why: This kit would be a great value kit for those who want to try Marc Jacobs beauty products. Only reason why I don't want this is because there are other products I want more that are selling in the Holidays!

NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection Limited Edition One Night Stand Cheek Palette
Will I Buy: Probably  Purchased
Why: The last time Nars had a cheek palette (which I did not pick up) was two years ago. I have heavily regretted it since then and as such, this is probably something I will pick up eventually (I'm using this as a motivator for me to have beautiful grades this semester...if my grades are good I will pick this up, if I don't...then this will get left behind :( )

Tarte Off the Cuff Amazonian 12HR Blush Palette and Bracelet
Will I Buy: Yes
Why: Blame Vanessa over at Citron and Guavaberry (can I just have this as my reason?!) But besides that, I love Tarte's blushes (just hit pan on one from last Holiday collection)... and I just can't imagine my collection without these. Will probably hit this up during the Sephora VIB Sale ;)

Too Faced All I Want For Christmas
Will I Get This: Maybe
Why: I currently don't own any Too Faced products, and this kit would be a great way to be introduced to them. Why I do want this a lot, I'm also eyeing at other products a bit more... so this is a maybe. Highly tempted though.

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette
Will I Buy: Probably Not
Why: Unfortunately the amount of eyeshadows I own is a bit ridiculous. However, this Vice 2 Palette was more appealing than the original Vice Palette. The packaging of this is absolutely beautiful, and the swatches that I have seen on this is AMAZING. Maybe I will get this as a present to a friend.... but besides that, won't be added to my collection.

Have any of you guys picked out anything from any of the Holiday collection yet? If so, what did you pick up? Feel free to recommend me products that you think I should try and all in the comment section below!

Nails of The Day: Wet n Wild Lavender Pearlescent

Hey guys! So today I wanted to share with you my new found obsession for nail polish, for this I can blame Nikki over at fairestfavorites and Leighannsays on Youtube. I have never been a huge fan of nail polish, so I don't really paint my nails often. However, recently I have picked up a decent size amount of nail polish from Wet n Wild. And of course, I decided to paint my nails (why waste product if you have it right?!)

The nail polish that is featured is Wet n Wild Wet Shine Nail Polish in Lavender Pearlescent. Normally when I think of Lavender, I think of Purple...so I think its kinda funny that this pretty pink nail polish was named that! I applied two coats of the nail polish and then I used Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Topcoat. Overall, I do like this nail polish a lot. The pink has a nice shine to it that gives it dimension. They are not as opaque as the Wet n Wild MegaLast Line of nail polishes...but they do the job nevertheless! I do recommend to any of you who can get your hands on these nail polishes from Wet n Wild to try them! The one I featured today is only 99 cents, and the max I've seen Wet n Wild nail polishes go is $4 (if that).

Does anyone have any favorite nail polishes they would like to recommend me? Let me know in the comment section below!
