Face of the Day and Outfit of the Day Post!

Hey guys! So I figured to make an Face of the Day and Outfit of the Day Post since I was going to hunt for a shadowing position at a Doctor's office. I decided to keep my makeup natural and aimed to enhance my features.

Elf High Definition Powder in Sheer

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Waterproof Eyeliner in Taupe
Tarte multiplEYE Clinically-Proven Lash Enhancing Primer

Lips:
Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me
Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Celestial (used very lightly)

Dress: Sele Dress Purchased at Macy's
Jewelry: Fashion Pearl Earrings Purchased at Macy's
Shoes: Bandolino Rodger Open Toe Wedge Sandals Shoes Gold Womens Purchased at Macys (You can purchase them at Sears though). I got these on sale for like $20 so I found it rather shocking that they are $66.

This dress I've had since high school, but its a classic dress I tend to lean towards. I love the bright yellow skirt of this dress and I love how the flowers don't overpowering on the skirt. Due to my petite frame, I tend to lean towards A-line skirts and dresses to enhance my figure. This dress I find is very versatile, it can be both a casual and professional dress. I wanted to look dressy when I was visiting various medical offices, not business formal.

Let me know what you think of the outfit below!

Review of Elf Essential Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in Little Miss Thing

Elf Essential Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in Little Miss Thing

Claims: This creamy and pigment rich Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick is perfect for creating a natural or smoky eyeshadow look. Infused with nourishing Vitamin E to condition the delicate eye area. The twist up component and smooth glide formula is easy to use for on-the-go beauty. All colors, except Like A Boss, have a shimmer finish.Price: $2.00
Shades: 10
Sizes: .11 oz/3 g
Where can it be purchased: eyeslipsface,Target

I recently purchased this jumbo eyeshadow stick from Elf at Target a couple of weeks back and I have been trying it out ever since. I purchased it in the shade Little Miss Thing, a champagne gold jumbo eyeshadow stick with shimmer. There were three options in total at Target, but I felt like this one would get the most use from me because I mainly wear natural eye makeup.

The packaging of this product is slim and convenient to throw in a small travel makeup bag if necessary. One of the big perks about these jumbo eyeshadow sticks from Elf is that they do not need to be sharpened--it is a mechanical twist up pencil, which makes it convenient for lazy girls like who can never seem to find their eyeliner sharpener....

Swatches of Little Miss Thing with Flash

Swatches of Little Miss Thing without Flash

The shade Little Miss Thing is a light champagne gold shimmer. With just one swipe of the jumbo eyeshadow stick, I was able to get a very opaque swatch on my hand without too much pressure. For those who have the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold, Little Miss Thing is much lighter and has a slight pink tinge whereas Bold Gold is more of an antique gold. I had no irritation when using Little Miss Thing from the jumbo eyeshadow stick. The eyeshadow was very buildable and blended easily on the eye.

The main downside of this jumbo eyeshadow stick is that in creases almost instantly on me without any primer. Within 10 minutes, I already saw the eyeshadow creasing on the inner folds of my eye. I am used to wearing eyeshadow without primer, mainly because of the humid weather in Florida, so it is not that big of a deal for me. I've also tried wearing the jumbo eyeshadow stick with eyeshadow on top but it still creased within 10 minutes for me. With the eyeshadow primer, it lasted for 9 hours (I haven't tried it longer than that, but it still looked as good as when I first applied my makeup!)

Overall, I would recommend this product if you do not mind using an eyeshadow primer (Wet n' Wild Take the Day Eyeshadow Primer is a drugstore eyeshadow primer that I recommend!). However, if you do not use eyeshadow primer, then I recommend you pass on this product. Hopefully one day Elf will make an jumbo eyeshadow stick that doesn't crease! The closest thing so far I have found for a drugstore creaseless eyeshadow is the Maybelline Color Tattoos, and even then they crease on me after 8 hours!

Let me know what you think of this products on the comment section below! I'm currently waiting on the weather in Florida to hit 90 degrees Fahrenheit before I post a review of the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation. It's survived with the Elf HD Powder and Rimmel Stay Matte at 90 + degrees, but I have yet to try it by itself!

New Product Alert! Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer

Went to my Walgreens today to pick up a Birthday Present for one of my friends and I saw the new Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer on stands and immediately freaked out! I went out and bought five of the colors that I thought I would wear :) UPDATE 7/20/13: Posted a review of this product here!

From Left to Right: Comet, Celestial, Out of This World, Stellar, and Apocaliptic

From Left to Right: Comet, Celestial, Out of This World, Stellar, and Apocaliptic

From my swatching, I can already tell that these lip lacquers are very opaque. Rimmel is marketing it as both a lipstick and a lipgloss, and I have to say I agree. I haven't fully tested it out to see how long it lasts yet but I plan on doing so! However, I can say that these feel so much more comfortable then the YSL Glossy Stains! For those of you who are sensitive to fragrance, I do not recommend this product because there is a scent on them. Its not overwhelming to me, but it smells a bit like candy which I do like!

So far neither the US Rimmel or Walgreens website have posted up the product, but I did a bit of research and I think there is 14 shades of the lacquers (thanks to Drugstore.com)! Each of these products contain .18 fl oz or 5.5 mL and are being sold at Walgreens for $4.99.

Let me know what you think about these products in the commet box below!

May Favorites

Welcome to My Monthly Favorites! I am a firm believer in quality over quantity. While I do not have many favorites (6 beauty and 1 non-beauty), I can assure you that these products are just plan awesome. Scroll down to see what I enjoyed in the month of May!

Beauty Favorites!
Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz
Ever since I got this, I've been using it nonstop! This has been my go to product for my eyebrows, it photographs beautifully and it lasts a long time when used with the Brow Gel. I posted a review on this product.

Mac Lipstick in Brave
This is my go to nude lipstick (I even have a backup of this all set to go when I am finished with it!). This is a beautiful color that is more of a pink nude rather than a true nude. I absolutely adore this lipstick and there is no doubt that this will be in my empties soon.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss

I've never used Maybelline Baby lips until this past month and I have top say that I'm in love! I have never had anything this moisturizing as these lip butters. This is a very nice nice color with a bit of shimmer. Whenever I am not wearing my Mac lipstick in brave I am almost always just wearing this!

Maybelline the Falsies Flared Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara in Very Black
This is the first Maybelline mascara that I've tried and I'm in love! This mascara gives my eyelashes a nice boost in volume! My lashes are pretty non-existent and this is one of the best drugstore mascaras that I've tried! Waterproof is an essential for the Florida ; this mascara does not smudge one bit!

Olay Professional ProX Facial Cleansing Brush
I use this brush daily to both remove my makeup and cleanse my face. This brush has two settings, a regular cleanse and a deep cleanse. I know a lot of people are a fan of the Clarisonic but it is just to darn expensive :/ However, for those who are wanting something similar, I recommend you try this instead!

Wet n' Wild Take the Day Eyeshadow Primer
I can not stress how amazing this eyeshadow primer is. The longevity of this primer is absolutely insane, I wore it yesterday and my eyeshadow makeup still looked as good as when I applied it....13 hours later (9AM-10:30PM)! I'm honestly tempted to try and see how long this primer can last before my eyeshadow creases...but I have a feeling that I might have to sleep with my makeup intact in order to find out. I highly recommend this product,  now that I have discovered it I will not even think about trying out either Two Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion...it's just that good!

Non-Beauty Favorites!

Favorite TV Show: Jang Ok Jung: Live in Love
I am a huge fan of Korean Dramas, especially Korean historical dramas (sageuks). This is a story about Korea's most famous femme fatale, Jang Ok-Jung (who is also known by her title Jang Hee-Bin). She was a concubine who gained King Sukjong's favor during the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897). Here is the wikipedia page if you want to learn more about this drama and if you want to watch the drama, you can watch it on sites such as Dramacrazy or Dramafever. Currently there are 16 episodes to this drama, but it is still airing in Korea and has another 8 episodes to go before the drama is complete. Love this drama and I highly recommend it if you like historical dramas!

Let me know what your favorite things were in May? What do you recommend me to try out in June?
