Hey loves! Today I will be reviewing the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in Light Beige (53). I purchased this when I was in Canada this past summer and I am now finally getting around to reviewing this foundation (ended up having to rewriting this review because I overwrote the first review >.> ). However, one good thing about me taking so long to review this foundation is that I could tell you how this foundation worked during the summer, fall, and winter (so you guys have a better understanding of how this foundation functions)! That being said, let's get onto the review!

Packaging:
The foundation is in a plastic bottle which makes it great for travel! The bottle is also slim in comparison to most foundations, which makes helps save space in my travel makeup bag. This foundation also comes with a pump, which is a huge plus!

Application:
This foundation can easily be applied with a makeup brush, sponge, and using my own hands! My favorite method of applying this foundation is using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. The liquid formulation blends really quickly into the skin. For demos of me applying the foundation, check out the links beneath the pictures of me wearing the foundation!

Coverage:
This foundation provides a light to medium coverage. On most days, I will use anywhere from two to four pumps of this foundation (two for light coverage and four for medium coverage). This foundation covers the majority of my redness, discoloration, and scarring. The foundation does not feel heavy on my skin and gives a nice, luminous finish.

Longevity:
This foundation provides about 6 to 8 hours of wear alone during the winter for me. During the summer, this foundation can wear less than that if I wear it alone.  To prolong the longevity of this foundation, I use a primer (usually the Benefit Porefessional Primer) and set this foundation. On a long day (12 hour +) I find that I usually have to touch up at least two times to make sure that the foundation doesn't completely break apart. If I do not touch up, the foundation breaks apart in my t-zone area. The foundation does not cling to the dry areas on my face, making this an ideal winter foundation for a light foundation day.

Final thoughts:
While I wouldn't necessarily wear this foundation during the summer, I would definitely wear this foundation during the winter! This foundation isn't suited for me when it is hot and humid outside, so I won't be recommending this foundation for you girls with oily skin! However, if you are dry, normal, or combination skin, I can see this foundation working really well for you (especially if you are not living in a humid climate!). Since this foundation gives such a nice, glowing finish, I can see a lot of girls loving this foundation. However, one big downside for me is that this foundation won't last throughout the whole day for me (my days tend to easily be 12+ hours). However, for some girls, I can see this foundation working really well for them because their days aren't as long as mine. This is my first Bourjois Foundation that I have tried and I am hoping to get others from Bourjois when I get a chance!

Have you tried this foundation? If so, let me know what you think!

  6. Glad you love this! I love this formula just like you do but find that the regular healthy mix with a good layer of powder lasts beautifully in the hot/humid weather here whereas the gel formula doesn't wear as well if you're out and it's hot and humid! The new packaging now looks almost exactly the same but it's a glass bottle now! I really liked it when both bottles regular and gel were in plastic bottles, much better for traveling! You totally need to try the 123 perfect foundation from bourjois next, it's such a good foundation that's got a awesome matte finish!

  10. I need to get my hands on the regular healthy mix and 123 perfect foundation! Darn, I hate it that they changed the packaging. I mean I like the fact that is much more luxurious but I like how I can travel with it and not be terrified of it breaking. Thanks for your recs Sharlynn, will definitely keep that in mind whenever I decide to add moe Bourjois products to my collection! :)
