Review: Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne System

Hey guys! So I received the Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne System over a month back by Influenster in my ClearProof VoxBox. Finally, after a long time of me trying, I will give you a review of the product (and if you are wondering, I did not receive any compensation for this review). This whole kit sells for $45 for the four full sized products shown above ($59 if all the products are purchased separately). They also sell a 7 day trial set for $20 (1 fl oz for the cleanser and moisturizer, .9 fl oz for toner, and .1 oz for the acne treatment gel). This is a bit of a hefty price for the whole kit, so definitely consider getting it if you believe that it will benefit you. Skincare is a very personal thing, it varies from person to person as to what the best skincare products are.

Mary Kay Clear Proof Clarifying Cleansing Gel - $16
This cleanser is very reminiscent of the Simple Cleanser that I reviewed here. It has a gel consistency, so it does not foam when it comes in contact with water. This cleanser does not irritate the skin and does not leave your skin overly drying. I find that I do enjoy using this cleanser, it is gentle enough not to be used twice everyday, morning and night, without irritating the skin. This cleanser also contains 2% salicylic acid. I am a huge fan of skincare products that prevent acne, but I'm haven't seen significant results from this cleanser. I also don't think this removes heavy makeup effectively by itself. As such, I usually have to go in with a separate makeup remover to remove the rest of my makeup. This cleanser contains 4.5 oz / 127 g.

Mary Kay Clear Proof Blemish Control Toner - $15
Boy have I enjoyed this toner. I really do think it does the job in removing excess dirt, makeup, and miscellaneous things on my skin that the cleanser didn't do. Out of this whole kit, I think that this is the standout product in my opinion. It's reminiscent of other toners with salicylic acid that I've had in the past. Because of the acne fighting properties, I would not recommend you to try this unless you have oily or acne prone skin. This toner will dry you out more then other regular toners (the ones that don't have salicylic acid that is) but your skin will feel a bit tighter and a bit smoother, but slightly drier. This toner contains 5 fl oz. / 147 mL.

Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne Treatment Gel - $10
I'm kind of torn on this product. While it does not remove acne spots, it takes a longer time to do so then other acne treatments I've tried. However, this product does not irritate the skin as much as other acne treatments I've used in the past. As such, I can see a lot of people gravitating towards this product because it is much more gentle then the majority of acne products in the market. This acne treatment gel contains 1 oz / 28 g.

Mary Kay Clear Proof Oil-Free Moisturizer for Acne-Prone Skin - $18
This moisturizer is very hydrating, so hydrating that I don't think I'll be able to use during the summer. As such, I think this product is best suited for normal skin. It provides ample amount of moisture during the day and can easily double as a night moisturizer as well. I usually accidentally get way too much product, so I do end up applying this to my neck (and maybe my arms a bit). While I do enjoy this, I do see many people not liking this as a result of its slipperiness and lack of SPF. I've developed a habit of using an additional SPF (with something along the lines of SPF 50+) so that I get additional sun protection. As such, this is not a multi-functional product that doubles as a moisturizer and sunscreen. This moisturizer contains 3 fl oz / 88 mL.

Final Verdict:
While I have been enjoying all of the products from the line, I'm not sure how effective they all are together in preventing new acne. I have noticed that any new acne that has popped up from the time I started using the line has faded away a lot faster then normal, but I'm not sure if it can be attributed to me using this line. I am a bit hesitant to recommend this to my readers, but I will say that I do enjoy using it and haven't had an issue with any of the products irritating my skin. This acne treatment line is much gentler then other line I have tried in the past. If you are thinking about trying this line out, I do recommend you to try to get samples of all the products to see if any of these products irritate your skin.
