Hey guys! So today I will be reviewing the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab for you guys! I uploaded a youtube review of this awhile ago (here) and I just got around to typing up a blog post review on it. I picked this bad boy Sephora gave me twenty off of a fifty purchase in December and now that I have tried this foundation for some time now, I am ready to review this product for you.

Packaging:
This foundation comes in a glass bottle with a matte black cap. While the packaging is definitely on the more luxurious side, it isn't the most travel friendly unfortunately. I rarely travel with glass bottles because I am terrified that it will break (and with the price tag this one has, I really don't want it to break)! This foundation does not come with a pump, but you can purchase a pump separately for $6. If you do decide to get the pump, you can not place the cap on top of the pump unfortunately.

Application:
My favorite method of applying this foundation is using the It Cosmetics OMG Foundation Brush, I feel like it provides the fullest coverage and the less streaky finish. I also will sometimes use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, but that one doesn't provide as much coverage as the It Cosmetics Brush.

Coverage:
This foundation provides a medium to full coverage! The end result is a nice, flawless finish. The finish is a satin and its a very natural. This foundation photographs beautifully, and doesn't cause a white cast. It takes me around two pumps to get me the desired coverage of this foundation. For a demo of me applying the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, check out the link below!

Longevity:
With the BareMinerals Original Primer, I've had this foundation on for over 12 hours and it did not budge or cake up one bit. By itself, the foundation doesn't last as long, anywhere from 6-8 hours which is standard wear time for an oily skin girl like me. If you live in a particularly humid climate, I wouldn't recommend this foundation. I primarily use this foundation in the colder months, but with a primer, I can use it in the spring and fall as well! I avoid this foundation for full day wear the summer because Florida is just too hot, but I enjoy this foundation for shorter periods of time and at night.

Final Thoughts:
This, hands down, has been one of my favorite foundation purchases I've made. The formula, longevity, and finish have made this a winner in my book. I definitely think a primer helps with how it looks on the skin as well as its longevity. This is a high end foundation that has all the traits I'm looking for! Biggest downside is the price tag (especially if you factor in that you have to pay extra for a foundation pump).

If you are on a budget, but are looking for an alternative... I recommend you to check out the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. It doesn't provide the same coverage and is slightly more luminous then Sheer Glow, but it still gives beautiful results. Between the two foundations, I do prefer Sheer Glow more, because I prefer a fuller coverage and a more natural/satiny finish that Sheer Glow provides.

What foundations have you been loving? Let me know in the comment section below! (And in case you are wondering, yes, new content will be going up this week I promise. Just catching up on old blog posts :P)

  1. Ooooo this looks fabulous! I heard from people who know more about american weather saying that singapore's weather is basically florida's summer all year round! I would love to just try a NARS foundation but I totally will be setting mine (like all my other liquids) with a pressed powder otherwise almost no foundation will last a few hours in the hot humid weather here! I'm really impressed by the color selection of NARS foundations but am a bit sad that you have to purchase the pump separately. The sheer glow retails for about $10 less than a Dior/Chanel foundation so I think I'm going to take a leap and get a dior foundation when I've saved up. (been dying to own a high end foundation!)

Anyway I've been loving L'oreal true match as it's the only foundation that lasts through the humidity here with the help of some powder whereas everything else will disintegrate slowly! Also there's a regional brand called 'ZA", and I've been loving the two liquid foundations they carry, which paired with their pressed powder (my holy grail) look perfect and lasts despite being thin in texture! Hope you've been doing well! ^^

  2. Glad you're loving this! It didn't work well on my skin, but it makes yours look totally flawless! Love the red lipstick you're wearing here too :)

  3. Lovely review hun! I hate the fact that it doesn't include a pump I still haven't gotten around to purchasing one so I can never let it lie down in my storage y'know incase it becomes a hot mess D: but packaging issues aside, I do really enjoy this for a more flawless look and I actually find that on my skin it looks better the longer I wear it?! which is odd haha. I also like mixing it with other bases too ^_^ Also I NEED that bareminerals primer!!! eeeek sounds amazing!

  4. I'm pretty sure our weathers are very similar! I don't blame you for saving up for a Dior or Chanel Foundation...the price point is so similar that making the jump makes SO much sense. I plan on one of my next high end foundations to be Dior or Chanel, I'll get it whenever I have some money to buy some more high end makeup! It is a pity that you have to buy the pump separately, but I have learned that if I don't do so, I will be less likely to use the foundation :/

L'Oreal True Match doesn't work for me unfortunately :/ Doesn't control oil enough :( Hope you have also been doing well dearie ^_^

  5. Awww, that sucks that this foundation doesn't work well with your skin. Its becoming one of my faves! I need to wear this lipstick more often, its so catching and bright! Thanks for stopping by Jen :)

  6. Awww, I know how you feel about that ;_; I purchased a pump because I knew if it didn't have one I would probably not use it at all (and for a foundation that is as expensive as this one is... I should be using it!) I love how this makes my skin look... I don't even know how its possible for it to look as good as it does. The bareminerals primer is bombskies. Still testing out other formulations and seeing if there are any that don't work too well on it, but so far... its been FABULOUS.

  7. I'm so late on this whole NARS foundation thing--I've yet to sample this nor the luminous weightless one despite all the rave reviews. Onnnn the other hand, I suppose I am saving $$ since IF I DON'T SAMPLE IT, I WON'T HAVE THE CHANCE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH IT.
Really loving the sound of Sheer Glow though--medium to full coverage??? Yasssss pls.

I do have Healthy Mix Serum and I do quite like it, but my daily base is Jouer's Matte Moisture Tint TIL THE DAY I DIE~~~~ (I kid, but I do love my matte moisture tint)

  8. I haven't gotten around to trying the luminous weightless foundation yet... terrified to do so because if I like it I would drop like... another $50 to buy it... eeekk. Sample is keeeeey, but avoid sampling until money is saved up for it

I need to get ahold of the Matte Moisture Tint... but we don't have a counter here where I live in Florida and I am terrified of buying face products without actually being able to accurately color match to my skintone. I've heard NOTHING but amazing reviews about it
