Hello lovelies! Today I am featuring my transitional and blending eyeshadows! While I do not have a lot of mid-tone brown eyeshadows in my collections, the ones I do have pack a nice punch and work wonderfully when I want to blend out eyeshadows and ensure that I do not have any harsh lines. The ones I have here are my favorites and the eyeshadows I gravitate towards the most!
For those of you who have no idea what language I'm talking in (don't worry, we've all been there before!), mid-tone brown eyeshadows are an essential in my makeup collection. They serve can serve a couple purposes. First and foremost, they can make eye makeup a lot easier to blend! Using my ever so trusty Mac 217 Blending Brush, I pop one of these colors into my lids and within seconds my muddy smokey eye looks perfect! Secondly, placing this into the crease as your first step in your eye makeup routine (after priming your eyelids) allows any eyeshadow you place on top to transition effortlessly. Basically, there is no harsh lines and the colors don't come out of nowhere and look misplaced! Lastly, these colors can help define your eyes and makes them stand out more! While they may look boring in the pan, I have found them to be essential in my makeup routine! I don't use these shadows everyday, but when I do there I notice a big difference in my eye makeup!
Mac Matte Eyeshadow in Saddle is a warm toned brown! These are sold $15 in pot form and $10 in pan form (although I have seen this in the outlets for $11 in pot form!). I have never regretted any Mac eyeshadow purchase I have made, and this eyeshadow is one of the eyeshadows I pick up the most when I want to make my eye makeup a bit warmer. Like all of the other Mac eyeshadows I have encountered, this is pigmented, smooth, and extremely blendable. I do like the convenience of it being in a pot (even if I did spend a little more), mainly because I currently haven't found the "perfect" travel eyeshadow palette to own, so I always tend to bring this along with me!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Tease is a cool tone taupe. I use this eyeshadow when I am not wanting to create any warmth in my eye makeup, making it a great alternative to Mac Saddle. While I have it in the Naked 2 Palette, the single does sell for $18 at Sephora, Ulta, and online. I also like using this color to contour my nose. Due to Tease being cool toned and matte, I can use the eyeshadow to create a believable (or insane like my Cindy Sherman Transformation) contour on my nose.
Lastly, the Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyshadow Trio in Walking on Eggshells has a fantastic warm toned brown that I use constantly as an alternative to Mac Saddle. This is one of the best bargains out on the market! Priced at $3, you get a three fantastic eyeshadows that can create a very natural look. Like the higher end options I have featured here, these are pigmented, smooth, and extremely blendable! However, unlike the other options I have here, this is satin eyeshadow. There is also a hint of shimmer in this shadow, but it is not too overpowering and not that noticeable on the eyelids!
