Top High End Blushes

Hello beautiful ladies and gentlemen! Today I am showing you what my favorite high end blushes are! While these may be on the pricer side of things, they are definitely worth the investment! For those of you who are on a budget, don't worry I'll have my favorite drugstore blushes up in a couple of weeks (still need to finalize my decisions on which ones I truely love). Now without further adieu, I present to you my favorite high end blushes!

The oldest high end blush I have in my collection is the Lancome Blush Subtil Powder Blush in Sheer Amourose. I got this as a gift with purchase when I bought my Lancome Dual Finish Powder Foundation a couple of years back. This is probably one of the more understated blushes in my collection but I love it regardless! It is a sheer blush, which makes it really forgiving if you are naturally heavy handed like I am! This is a matte medium pink blush that would work well for light to medium skintones. If you have a dark complexion, it may take a bit of work to build up color on your cheeks!

I am forever grateful to Vanessa, the awesometastic blogger over at Citron and Guavaberry to sending me the Balm Hot Mama Blush over at our Makeup Swap. I have a difficult time putting down this blush because it gives such a beautiful sheen on your cheeks! This is a pink-coral blush, but has a nice shimmer in it. The shimmer is not overpowering and does not emphasize my pores (a huge plus). I find that I don't need to wear highlighter with this blush! I feel like this would look beautifully on all skin tones!

While the Nars Guy Bourdin One Night Stand Cheek Palette (Review) is a limited edition palette, the blush I feature here is one in the permanent collection. While many people may love Orgasm, I am a bigger fan of Deep Throat (second row in the middle). This blush is a bit peachier than Hot Mama, but it doesn't have as much shimmer. The formulation of this blush is beautiful and applies like a dream onto my skin! Again, this blush would be fantastic for all skintones!

Newest high end blush in my collection is the Benefit Blush in Rockateur. In the box the blush doesn't look too impressive--it looks just like it wouldn't add much color on the skin. However, on the cheeks this gives the most beautiful glow! This is a rose gold blush with a healthy bit of shimmer which makes it completely unnecessary for highlighter! Another added bonus, the brush that comes along with this brush is phenomenal; I use it every time I use this blush! And to continue to further boost this blush, my sister is a total blushaholic now due to this blush! She can't stop wearing this! This blush is best suited for light to medium skintones.

Honorable Mention in my top high end blushes are the Tarte Blushes in Fantastic, Magic, and Stellar. These are the only blushes from Tarte that I own and unfortunately they are limited edition. However, I felt like I should mention it to them because the formulation of these blushes are outstanding. Fantastic is a wearable matte blue toned pink blush, Magic is a matte pink-coral blush, and Stellar is a satin brown blush. Out of these blushes, Stellar is my fave (as seen by the fact that its the only blush featured here that I have hit pan on!) All of the blushes here are long lasting and stay put, regardless of what kind of foundation you have. I definitely want to pick up some full sized, permanent Tarte blushes in the future!

Swatches outside, in the shade. From left to right: Benefit Rockateur, Lancome Sheer Amourose, Nars Deep Throat, Tarte Fantastic, Tarte Magic, Tarte Stellar, and the Balm Hot Mama. These swatches are a bit heavy because I wanted you guys to see the as much as the color as possible!

Swatches indoor, in the bright indoor natural lighting. From left to right: Benefit Rockateur, Lancome Sheer Amourose, Nars Deep Throat, Tarte Fantastic, Tarte Magic, Tarte Stellar, and the Balm Hot Mama

To sum it all up, my favorite blushes here is Benefit Rockateur and the Balm Hot Mama. While I love all of the other blushes I have featured here, those two have been a game changer and are truly outstanding in pigmentation, longevity, and look beyond lovely on the cheeks. Plus, both of these blushes do not require any highlighter which means I can skip a step in my makeup routine and save a bit of time!

What are your favorite high end blushes? Let me know so I can continue to add more onto my wishlist!

  7. That palette has two misses for me (Orgasm and Laguna), but is a great palette overall! The four other cheek products make up for it! Definitely get rockateur if you get a chance! It's absolutely lovely on the skin! I love Hot Mama, it goes on the skin SO smoothly! Will get the drugstore version of this list up as soon as I can, I'm not as in love with my drugstore blushes as I should be because of my affair with Rockateur and Hot Mama.

  8. Put it on your want list! It definitely is something you should have, I think you will really like it! Frat Boy is another blush from them that I want, along with their Instain blushes! While I'm not in love with my Nars palette, I do get some use out of it. I totally get what you feel though!

  12. What a beautiful range of pinks and corals. I love a nice blush that is buildable but now I have so much pink that if I get anything new it will be similar to something I already have!

The swatch looks beautiful but you're right in the pan it looks like something that you just wouldn't want to try haha (damn it Iqra stop judging blushers by their pans, so many time I've done this with sleek and so many times I've been pleasantly surprised! xD)
great picks here, I'm noting down that Benefit one :')

  21. This post is basically Vanessa-bait :D
    I HAVE CLEARLY MADE A FANTASTIC DECISION SENDING YOU HOT MAMA. Though I'm not a fan of how Rockateur looks on my face, I have to admit that it's insanely gorgeous when swatched. Heck, I might have to give it another go on my face sometime to see if I will change my mind on it. I can't believe you've hit pan on a blush already....still working on that myself ;-;

  22. Totally Vanessa bait! AND YES, FANTASTIC DECISION. Do give it another go, I really do think its an outstanding blush... that looks a hell of a lot better on my face then as a swatch. I honestly can't believe I have hit pan on a blush myself, I thought it would take more forever to get to that point! I do think that I am quite close to hitting pan on Elf Pink Passion (but who honestly knows)!! Rockateur is going to be used up fast, with the way my sister and I are going through it >.>

  24. I've been wanting to try The Balm's Hot Mama blush foreverrrrr! And I never hear bad things about Tarte blushes so I definitely want to give those a try too :)

  25. The smell of the blush is hideous! I just try to avoid it as much as possible, because I love it so much!

  26. I need to try Arbonne products! I've heard really good things about them!

  27. Definitely try Hot Mama and Tarte blushes. I promise you that you will not be disappointed at all!

  28. Thank you for swatching these!! I am dying to try Rockateur by Benefit, the color is so nice, and I love Benefit products. Really nice quality. Deep Throat, of course, is one of those cult favorites I've been hesitating on for a while. Have you tried many of the Balm's products?

    Hope you're well, Pauline!
